Since 2017, the Alma Mahler Kammerorchester has been rethinking the chamber orchestra experience. With members bringing expertise from solo positions in leading European orchestras like the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Berliner Philharmoniker, Luxembourg Philharmonic, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Oslo Philharmonic, and Staatskapelle Dresden, the AMK is dedicated to achieving the highest artistic standards. AMK is based in Clermont-Ferrand since 2021, where they rehearse and perform in close collaboration with the Conservatoire Emmanuel-Chabrier, the City of Clermont-Ferrand, and the Clermont Auvergne Metropol. AMK performs across Europe, captivating audiences with their unique interpretations and powerful performances. "Alma the Artist" offers a tribute to Alma Mahler’s enduring influence, showcasing her music alongside the music of her contemporaries to highlight her lasting impact on the musical world.

The AMK is run by an artistic team of musicians from the ensemble elected by the other musicians.
